Mr Kevin E O’Riordan - Isle of Man Advocate and English Solicitor

Born in Africa and educated in England, a graduate of Pembroke College Oxford, Kevin came to the Island in 1996 having qualified as a Solicitor in London in 1975 and with previous offshore experience as an Attorney at law in the Cayman Islands. He qualified as an Isle of Man Advocate with Simcocks in 1998 and remained working there until 2014 when he joined Kelly Luft. During his professional career he has gained a wide range of experience in contentious matters both on and offshore, as well as sometimes advising on non-contentious matters.

He is held in high regard as a mediator in both family and civil cases and is also trained in Collaborative Law, enhancing his ability to mix tough litigation skills with effective negotiation outside the courtroom where appropriate. His reputation is built on offering realistic and reliable solutions to people, often in emotionally charged situations, and providing discreet and confidential legal and practical advice.Although his current main areas of practice are matrimonial/family and trust cases he is also often involved in handling other types of civil case, including complex commercial disputes. His client base comes both from the Isle of Man and further afield, including high net worth individuals and those in the public eye. Where necessary he liaises with other specialists to offer advice covering other disciplines. He speaks French and some Spanish.

Kevin was appointed President of the Isle of Man Law Society for two years from January 2013, having been Vice President to Jason Stanley for the previous two years.
